A glaze is a non penetrating stain. The color collects on the detail of the trim and doors and accentuate the profiles. An antique finish may involve a glaze but it goes a step further and may include sanding through finishes, distressing with a chain, awl, or anything to make new cabinetry look like it has been around a few generations.
